What are the four INTJ subtypes?

IT (Thinking-Introverted): Calculated and logical, INTJs are deeply connected to the emotional currents around them, always seeking harmony.
NJ (Intuitive-Judging): Strategic and purposeful, INTJs are the Visionaries, able to foresee outcomes and direct their insights towards meaningful goals.
TJ (Thinking-Judging): Principled and systematic, these INTJs are the Engineers, driven to implement logic in a constructive direction to solve problems.

Observers

The INTJ Philosopher

The IN subtype, known as the Philosophers, possess a unique blend of introspection and intuition. These INTJs are naturally drawn to the exploration of ideas and the complexities of the human condition. With a keen insight into possibilities and a deep understanding of people, they often find themselves envisioning futures that others cannot see. However, translating these visions into reality or communicating them effectively can be challenging, as their depth of thought is profound and complex.

Reviewers

The INTJ Scientist

The IT subtype is one that relies on careful logic and critical thinking to solve problems. You want to achieve full mastery over a subject or a skill, seeking the highest possible excellence in what you do. You can be a bit of a perfectionist, as you critically scan any situation and think of ways to improve. While you’re a very talented and intelligent person, you may struggle to plan adequately for the future.

Navigators

The NJ Visionary

The NJ subtype represents the Visionaries among INTJs. With a forward-thinking approach, they apply their intuition to foresee potential outcomes and navigate towards their visions. Their ability to plan and strategize is unparalleled, often leading them to roles where they can enact change. While their focus on the future is a strength, it can also detach them from the present, making it essential for them to balance their visionary inclinations with mindfulness of the here and now.

Deciders

The TJ Engineer

Lastly, the TJ subtype – the Engineer, is most known for their productive, effective approach to life. Your goal is to achieve as much as possible with as little resources as possible. Engineers are project-minded individuals, that often work on some enterprise or towards some business goal. You can be stubborn and sometimes jump to conclusions or fail to consider the bigger picture as you’re so driven and hard-working, that you rarely have time to reflect on what is going on in your life.
