Self-Discovery 101 on Judgers and Perceivers [Part 2]

Back to course overview

Judging vs Perceiving

  • Judging Types are proactive and goal-oriented, valuing productivity and the completion of tasks, sometimes even at the expense of efficiency. They tend to be assertive, setting high expectations for themselves and preferring to work independently, relying on a stable and consistent approach to life and work.
  • Perceiving Types excel in adaptability and flexibility, valuing collaboration and open discussions to gather diverse perspectives. They are modest about their abilities, prioritizing precision and quality over speed and quantity in their work. Perceiving types are inclined towards exploring multiple options and remain open to changing plans based on new insights or feelings.

Reflection Questions

  1. When approaching tasks, do you prioritize getting things done quickly and efficiently, or do you focus on the quality and accuracy of the work, even if it takes longer?
  2. In discussions or group work, do you find yourself confidently stating your abilities and taking charge, or do you prefer to ask questions and consider others’ feedback before making decisions?
  3. Consider your work habits: Are you more inclined to stick to a stable and consistent routine, or do you thrive in environments where you can adapt and change plans as needed?
  4. Reflect on how you manage projects or goals: Do you prefer setting clear, ambitious targets for yourself and working independently to achieve them, or do you seek collaboration and input from others to ensure a well-rounded outcome?
