Help me spread intropersonal and intrapersonal awareness in the world. This first version of the 16 Personalities test is just the beginning. My plan is to show which of the 16 personalities you show:

  • At work
  • In groups
  • In one-on-one settings
  • And how you show up when you’re on your own.

This can help you understand how your personality shifts in different contexts. Some people, you see, are more introverted at work and more social and outgoing in 1-on-1 situations. Others are more spontaneous and flexible in work settings, and more organized and proactive in their personal hobbies. The interesting question is why?

What made you take on the role you currently have at your work? Or in your friend group? And is that how you’d like to be?

Support the new, improved test

My plan is to launch an upgraded 16 personalities test with improved, more nuanced questions to help you gain deeper insight into yourself and your behavior. 16 personalities – in four situations. Discover your work personality type, your group personality. Are you the same in all situations, or do you show slight variations and nuances?

By showing that what’s normal for you depends on who you’re with and where you’re at, I’m trying to promote a more contextual way of looking at and understanding your personality. Nobody is the same in every situation. When a recruiter asks you to take a personality test, and you score INFP, they may be surprised to find out they’ve got an ENTP at work. In fact, personality tests only predict 5% of the success you have in the workplace, according to some studies.

When most of my friends take a personality test, they say they like the results. But they also say that it’s not always true. They are quick to bring up evidence to the contrary. But why, if I’m an introvert, do I have so much fun in my job as a coach or as a campaign worker? If I’m a Perceiving type, how come I’m always able to show up on time for appointments?

The 16 personalities are often used as simple stereotypes. But people are more complicated than that. Let me show you just how complicated it is.

My coming Cognitive Function test

In addition to a revamped 16 Personalities test, I’m working behind the scenes on an extended Cognitive Function test to be released around the 18th of July.

The cognitive function test goes deeper than the 16 personalities test, into your mind, how you think, process information, and make decisions. My cognitive function test can spot your established thinking patterns.

We all tend to have a natural bias. It can cause us to get stuck in loops, to make bad decisions, and to miss crucial information. It can blind us to the reality of a situation and make us hyper-focused on a specific part of it. At other times, it can help us specialize and develop advanced skills and reasoning in some areas.

By understanding your thinking preferences and styles, you can make better decisions. The first step of changing how you think is understanding how you think.

Of course, my cognitive function test will also focus on various contexts and situations to demonstrate the brain’s fluidity.

“I wrote the book because there's a lot of cynicism out there, and for real reasons: you might feel burnt out, you might have experienced loss, heartbreak, or failure, and you might feel stuck or uncertain about how to proceed. I've been there. I wanted to talk about how it's been for me – and how I've found a way to keep my heart open. I hope you'll like it!”
