We all have those moments and experiences that we love. And then we have things we would rather not experience. And then we have things that we fear – but also are fascinated by.
type gets high
When Scouts (ESXX) experience negative emotions, they go into IN. When Scouts instead follow an inspiration, they go into IS.

What Every Type Gets High On

ENXX – The Detectives
The thrill of discovery when you find out a secret or spot something hidden. Going somewhere people told you not to go, and seeing things that most people miss. Looking where nobody else has looked, and finding clues that there is something going on around you.
ESXX – The Scouts
Being at the event or the sensation of the year and feeling the calm of knowing you are truly alive. Seeing something amazing – a sunrise – smelling a great smell, but not knowing what it is exactly, just that it smells good. Showing someone something beautiful.
INXX – The Philosophers
The fascination when you suddenly come to an insight. The sense that you are about to find something out or that you are on the road to making a big discovery. When you are thinking about something, and you start thinking thoughts you never thought before, and seeing things from perspectives that you hadn’t considered before.
ISXX – The Instructors
The sense of remembering something important just when it becomes relevant. The experience of reflecting on something and learning something from the past that you previously missed. Looking back at something and seeing something that you previously ignored.
XXTJ – The Architects
The satisfaction of managing to bring forward some form of progress or improvement. The sense of setting up a project or working through something step by step. The ability to look through and organize information in an efficient or smooth way.
XXFJ – The Messengers
Being able to make a positive impact on someone or something you care about. Being able to help someone understand something that they were struggling to deal with. Finding a way to express something that truly conveys how you feel and what you want most of all in a way that other people can understand.
XXTP – The Hackers
The pleasure of coming up with a way to solve a problem. The ability to figure out how another person works and operates, or to see flaws or issues that other people have missed. To spot something silly or irrational and to know exactly how to fix it.
XXFP – The Reporters
The love you feel when you see someone as they truly are, with all their flaws and imperfections. The ability to see when somebody isn’t being real with you. To spot different ways to interpret something. To come up with a way to ask questions to get another person to open up with you.

What the types would rather not experience

These experiences truly suck and can really keep us from positive experiences and good decisions. Often, the key is to not try to run from these feelings, but to accept that you are afraid, and to do it anyways.
ENXX – The Detectives
A frustrating memory reminding you of something just when you’re about to jump head first into a new situation. Often, the key isn’t to let this memory keep you from exploring something new, but to jump together with your memory and showing it the future.
ESXX – The Scouts
Getting a scary insight suggesting something terrible is going to happen if you go to that amazing party. Often, the answer here is to consider what you have done when bad things have happened in the past – you’re pretty good at managing anything, aren’t you?
INXX – The Philosophers
The frustration of seeing something with your very eyes that tells you your theory or your insight was false. Consider that there might still be some truth to your insight, but that it just needs a minor re calibration.
ISXX – The Instructors
The sheer terror when you see history repeating itself and nobody listens to you when you tell them to turn around. Just keep on reminding people, and help them prepare and to process the issue so that it doesn’t go as badly as last time.
XXTJ – The Architects
When you’ve found a way to improve something, but you become concerned that it could potentially hurt someone’s feelings.
XXFJ – The Messengers
The pain when you think you’ve been helping people or that you’ve had a positive impact on them, but it turns out that you were wrong and now you are responsible for someone’s pain.
XXTP – The Hackers
The shame when you’ve found the solution to someone’s problems and you tell them and you end up hurting their feelings unintentionally.
XXFP – The Reporters
The distress when you’ve asked someone a question – with no bad intention – and you end up bringing up a bad memory or pain in someone else.

Things we all fear but are also fascinated by

There are some things that feel foreign to us. Inspiring things we’ve seen other people do – and that we wish we could do. Sidequests that feel important or meaningful, or fascinating. Often, the thrills below require us to go outside our comfort zone. I advise all of you to try these things even if they seem scary, but practice moderation, and don’t be afraid to ask other people for help with it. Often, that makes it much easier.
ENXX – The Detectives
The thought of going inside and reflecting on your future and where you are headed, seeing your life from the big picture. Yes, I know you’d rather just experience it first hand with your eyes, but sometimes this is important if you ever feel stuck in a bad pattern.
ESXX – The Scouts
Reflecting on your history and your past choices and how they have impacted you as a person. Yeah, you’d rather have fun, but often, this can help you make positive improvements in your life.
INXX – The Philosophers
Going out there and testing out if your theory or the vision you had is actually correct and if the world actually operates the way you think it does. If you’re ready to go on an adventure, you’ll open up to some amazing insights.
ISXX – The Instructors
Going head first into a new environment you know nothing about and making decisions without having a clue about how it is going to impact you. Yeah, sometimes everything can’t be done by the book, and history doesn’t tell us everything, so keep an open mind.
XXTJ – The Architects
Testing out random solutions with no idea if they are going to work out or not. Yes, I know, you’d rather have a solid plan, but if you’re in a new environment or if you’re dealing with something new, you’re going to have to experiment a little at first.
XXFJ – The Messengers
Asking a question to another person and finding out how they really feel about something. Often, you’ll spend so much time thinking about how to help other people. If you’d just ask them, they might be able to tell you themselves.
XXTP – The Hackers
Designing your own program or coming up with your own plan or goal or business idea and sticking to it. Usually, you keep on coming up with new ideas and ways to fix things, and you never take the time to stick to an approach long enough to see how it really works.
XXFP – The Reporters
Giving other people help and advice on how they could live their life and what they could do to be happier.
What your type gets high on is often your engine fuel – your purpose, your mission, your passion, your hobby. What your type gets inspired by is your inspiration – your risks – your sidequests – and the unexpected treasures you find on your journey. And what your type is grounded by is your work – your necessities – your duties – and your obligations.
