What is the nature of good and evil? Good is mostly visible in a person who is in a flow state. Evil in a person who is taken over by stress or negative emotion.

While most people are more or less neutral, or switch between these alignments, most people have an alignment that more or less describes them. Neutral people are best described by a general ambivalence towards both scales.

Lawful and chaotic types are also very different from one another. A lawful good person seeks to live within their own code of morals or their own ethics. A chaotic good person may break the law, lie, in order to achieve a good outcome.

Similarly, a chaotic evil type is often a type of “Punisher” who does what they do in order to correct an injustice or a perceived wrong, any means necessary. This is different from the Lawful Evil type. I believe the lawful evil stereotype fits the average German soldier during world war two. Someone who did not think about whether something was right or wrong, but simply did what was necessary.
